About Us

Welcome to the Cognitive Social Robotics (CSR) Laboratory. Here, we delve into the captivating world of specialized Social and Assistive Robots designed for atypical children, such as those with autism or hearing impairments. Our research revolves around critical aspects like Child-Robot Interaction, utilizing AI models to decode signs, gestures, behaviors, and emotions. Affective Computing enriches these interactions by enabling robots to comprehend and respond to the emotions of these unique children effectively. By incorporating Gamification techniques, we inject an element of enjoyment into learning experiences. Moreover, the integration of Social Navigation capabilities empowers robots to adeptly guide children through various social scenarios. In the laboratory, we have a working group from different disciplines. At the CSR Laboratory, our mission is to harness the potential of these technologies, reshaping education and emotional engagement for atypical children through innovative robotics.
